The most intelligent and accurate ultrasonic thickness gauge
With its shock-resistant housing, fast processor and advanced sensors, Zonotip provides the most reliable measurement results on the market.
Measure ferrous and non-ferrous metals
Zonotip and Zonotip+ (with additional functions) are designed to measure the thickness of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and parts made of polymers, glass, ice and other materials with low ultrasonic attenuation.
The measurement range of the product for steel is 0.7 mm to 300 mm.
Zonotip's automated process makes measurement very convenient. The patented algorithm automatically adapts to surface curvature and roughness, making it possible to measure on corroded surfaces without specific adjustments.
Zonotip's large, high-contrast color display ensures easy and real-time visual control of the inspection process.
Customer benefits
Uniqueness: The first thickness gauge that offers a wide range of measurement options in a compact housing.
Wide range of applications: Two different detectors are available: standard dual element 4.0 MHz sensor and compact single element 2.5 MHz sensor. In addition,
You can choose a variety of measurement modes (standard, memory, A-SCAN).
Rugged and durable: Zonotip has a very sturdy and shockproof housing, which ensures that the instrument can be used in most harsh environments.
Multi-language support: Like all Proceq products, Zonotip can run in eight different languages.
Software: The attached PC software Zonolink can meet professional data management needs.
The main functions of Zonotip
- Solid made of thin, shockproof plastic
- Adapt to harsh weather conditions (cold and heat resistant)
- Large high-contrast color display ensures visual control of the inspection process
- Memory can store 50'000 measurement values
- 4.0 MHz dual element sensor
- Automatically adapt to surface curvature and roughness
- Automatically record maximum and minimum values when scanning objects
- Measure the ultrasonic pulse velocity of samples with known thickness
- When the limit is exceeded, it will be indicated by color, sound and vibration
- Use USB to connect to PC for data transfer
- 8 different languages to choose from
- Metric and imperial units
- Signal strength indicator
- Battery level indicator and automatic shutdown function
Additional features of Zonotip+
- Small 2.5 MHz single element sensor
- A-Scan mode displays the waveform on the display and saves the image to the memory
- Measure metal thickness through surface coating (such as paint) in A-Scan mode
Two different sensors

Standard 4.0 MHz dual element sensor can measure metal, The thickness of cast iron and other high ultrasonic attenuation materials. |
2.5 MHz single element sensor is more compact, Just one cable, Therefore, it is more suitable for measuring in narrow spaces. |
Dual element sensors are also ideal for checking the adhesion of layered materials.
- The pulse is reflected on the bond and back of the sample.
- Good adhesion: E1 and E2 echoes are detected.
- Poor adhesion: Only echo E1 is detected.
Three different operating modes
The instrument can run in three different modes, displaying current readings in digital or real-time graphical images (A-Scan). The A-Scan function allows to eliminate false results. This helps increase the reliability of the inspection. In addition, this mode allows rapid detection of inclusions or split delamination and accurate readings through polymer, varnish, paint or other types of surface layers.
