The maintenance of metallographic mounting machine molds is crucial for extending the service life of the molds and ensuring the quality of mounting.
Before use, check whether the mold cavity is clean and whether there are residual resins or other impurities. If there are impurities, they should be cleaned with a clean soft cloth and an appropriate cleaning agent to ensure that the mold cavity is smooth and clean, so as not to affect the sample mounting effect.
During use, operate strictly according to the pressure and temperature parameters specified by the equipment to avoid mold deformation or damage caused by excessive pressure or high temperature.
After each mounting is completed, remove the mold from the equipment in a timely manner and clean the residual resin on the mold surface and in the cavity. For some resins that are difficult to clean, the mold cleaning agent can be used to soak for a period of time before cleaning.
When not in use for a long time, the mold should be cleaned and dried, coated with a thin layer of anti-rust oil, and placed in a dry and ventilated place to prevent the mold from rusting. At the same time, avoid collisions or extrusion of the mold to prevent its dimensional accuracy and shape from being affected.
