What are the differences in appearance between a microhardness tester and a Vickers hardness tester?
Micro-hardness testers are more compact in size and lighter in weight compared to Vickers hardness testers. The weight of a micro-hardness tester is approximately 25kg to 40kg, while a Vickers hardness tester weighs approximately 40kg to 60kg. Regarding the height of the tested specimen, micro-hardness testers can test samples with a height or thickness within the range of 0.05mm to 80mm, whereas Vickers hardness testers can generally measure larger specimens up to 1mm to 180mm.
